_____
As I've mentioned in my previous post, I am deep into my DYI necklace phase!
Went bead shopping in NYC's Garment District aannnd:
Managed to recreate the cutest of the necklaces I've discovered online!!!!!!!
I've recreated the one on the far left!
The beads themselves are pretty standard (I've just discovered), but the challenge was to navigate the whole crazy bead store and find them among millions (seriously) of beads!
Look!!!!!
What did you think of the result? I personally loved it! Such a graphic statement necklace! For cheaps! Paid like less than 7 bucks for all these beads!!!

BAGAHOLIC!!!!!
-------------
Hi, my name is Lulu and I am a BAGAHOLIC!!!!!
I cannot resist a great deal when I see one!
Lookie, lookie:
Yep. Tory Burch for cheaps! Did my daily pilgrimage to Crossroads Trading (where I found that AMAZE Marc by Marc Jacobs some time ago) and guess who I found?
My new crush: my Tory Burch navy patent leather!
Almost in perfect shape for a perfect price. A new one would probably cost more than $250, but I got it at a fraction of the price!!!!
Love that iconic logo (and who doesn't???)!!!!
Happy again! *but it was hard to hear: "Another bag????" from the hubby!!!!

My DYI Necklace Fever!!!
--x---x---x---x--
Like the moon, I do have phases (LOL, bad writing!!).
I am in one my DYI phases. This time with geometric necklaces…
I was in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, this past weekend and got into a really trendy/fancy store in there.
Spotted a really nice black cord necklace with some cute golden beads. Really nice design, but nothing out of this world. Went to ask the price and…
It was $160 dollars!!! Come again? Nothing really amazing for that price???!!!
No way!
Browsing all over the internet, I did see these cute necklaces at Etsy.com:
Great design! Buuut I though I could attempt to create some necklaces of my own.
Thankfully, VERY thankfully, I do work not far from NYC's "bead land", just north of Macy's.
So there I went.
Snagged some funky beads aaaaand.... created THIS:
Looking cool, huh?
Not exactly like the ones from Etsy, but cool anyway. And they've cost a fortune: Under 7 bucks!!! I had the waxed cord at home...
I am pretty happy to be wearing something I've created!!!! And I did knot the cord in 2 places so you can adjust the length!
The next day, I went there to snag more so I can do one for my mom, and ended up finding another bead store. This one is absolutely HUGE and has similar beads from the Etsy necklaces!
Absent minded Lulu forgot her cell phone at work, so I could not exactly look for similar beads to replicate those necklaces.... Boooo....
But I will be back there tomorrow!
I will post my other necklaces as soon as I create them ;-)

Found My Perfect Denim Vest!!!!
____
Ok, summer is more than half way through, and I was late in joining the trend, but managed to score an awesome denim vest!!!
Have been watching girls wearing them all over the place on top of everything: dresses, T-shirts, you name it!
So, I did go online and saw some really expensive ones:
A Levi's and Liberty collab costing like $130
This Sinclair one above is cute, but definitively not worth the $194 price tag!!!
So, Lulu went to Buffalo Exchange (AGAIN, I know) aaaaand: scored a really cute Levi's vest for less than $20! Saw that on the mannequin and asked someone to get it for me!! It was my size M and fit perfectly!!!
So here is Lulu and her new old Levi's vest. That vest, by the way, used to be a jacket. Someone just cut off the arms and it looks FAB!!!
I am in love with it!!! And for LESS than 20 bucks!!! YAY Buffalo Exchange!!! You did it again!!!!

Faded NY Neon Sign
___
I am such a fan of the old. I love antiques, old architecture... Anything from the past.
I love walking around NYC and trying to see old remnants of olden days.
I was walking with my hubby in the West Side Highway and saw this amazing sign in a supposedly abandoned hotel:
AMAZING, right?
The place is shuttered down. It looks abandoned.
I could see that the sign could be from the 1930's or 1940's and wonder if it would survive when the building is sold and remodeled. You know that this will happen. This area is getting hot, hot, now.
But it wasn't always like that.
The internet, being so wonderful, has a lot of info and has a dedicated blog post with the whole history of this place, a hotel called Keller!
Read about the fascinating story of this old hotel HERE!
So wonderful to see things like this...
Hope this sign stays!
The current sign is from around 1933.

This photo is from the 1920's with an even older sign.
The current sign is from around 1933.
