Brazilian Childhood

Oh, my God! So MANY good memories!

These are a few things from my Brazilian childhood!!! Could not believe when I found those pictures on the Internetzzz:

Bala Soft - LOVED these things, but almost DIED a couple of times by swallowing it by accident. Thanks Mom for rescuing me!!!

I LOVED THESE CHOCOLATE CIGARRETTES. What a non-politically correct product! Inciting kids to smoke!!! LOL!

A Zebrinha do Fantastico - SHE WAS SOOOO ANNOYING!!!

Part of my list of "back to school crap"

I was such a tomboy... Loved to ride this with my sword and Zorro mask - can you believe it??? And I didn't turn out to be gay ! LOL

Had these when I came back from my first trip to the USA when I was kid. We bough one my size and another one one size bigger for when I would overgrow the first one...

Silvio Santos was everything on a Sunday... This program was the BEST

Pablo from Silvio Santos....Creepy and a half!! WHY on earth would he have this freak dub any song?

Pega varetas..

LOVED this lollipop. My fave was the "morango" one... The packaging is also so kitschy and simple...

Urso do Cabelo Duro cartoon

New Wave - SERIOUSLY = for my serious 80's hair

Grapette - I miss that grape taste...

Relogio Champion!!! GOD I loved how I could have like 10 watches in one...

Domingo no parque - LOVED this when I was a kid... Silvio Santos rules!

Chicletes - these tiny things where awesome = you would get a handful in your mouth. That tutti-frutti taste... hmmmm

Atari!! We smuggled this inside our dirty laundry in our luggage when we came back from the USA. Customs in Brazil were ruthless - still kinda are...

Mixed tapes or recording from the radio... Kids nowadays don't even know that those things existed! I really don't miss seeing those things unravel and get all screwed up in your cassette player...

caiu a ficha!!

Galak and Lollo - the taste of my infancy.

I loved Aquaplay... So simple, yet so entertaining

those mini-Cokes = you had to have them and collect all those caps to get those mini-bottles.

Gelecaaaa - I loved throwing this in the bathroom walls and see it crawl down...

I used to LOVE playing with this... this was WAY before computers, Illustrator, Photoshop...

This was a toy that, as the only child, was kinda useless - didnt have anyone who wanted to play with me...

Caloi!!! Can you believe that I though that Santa Claus brought this to me??? And I went to the store with my mom and didn't even notice she buying it...

MORE TO COME BRAZUCAS!!! Stay tuned...

Childhood Nostalgia...Cartoons...

Some signs that you might be getting OLD... they don't make like those anymore...

I've loved these cartoons when I was a kid:

The Pink Pather - how intelligent were those cartoons? The Panther did not have to speak a word... Brilliant...

Seriously, I would KILL for that costume when I was a kid

This cartoon was one of my faves: "A Princesa e o Cavaleiro" or known internationally as the Princess Knight.

"Toro e Pancho" in Brazil, or better known as "Tijuana Toads"

"Cobrinha azul" or the "The Blue Racer" another BRILLIANT and crazy cartoon. The snake is always after the Japanese Beetle... I don't know about everywhere else, but this beetle had the cutest voice in Brazil and sang a crazy "To-li-to-li-to-la" song...

Good times. They don't make cartoons like this anymore.... :-(

The military jacket

I am glad that I am SUPER on trend on this one...

This jacket has been seen all over the world... And I managed to get a gorgeous one pour moi!

On the catwalk:

BALMAIN:

Loewe - just look at the scarf - I do that too!!!

Gimme some Marc Jacobs:

And Rag & Bone:

And then...

THERE IS MEEEEE!!!!

I will try to get a better shot shortly... The back is also awesome...

Cheers to Claudia next to me!!!

Things Lulu has & loves - Brazilian Melissa a la mode "Chanel"

Being from Brazil, I grew up wearing those fabulous Melissa jelly shoes... They went kinda out of style for some time and now they came back - and HOW! They aren't the cheap ones I was used to, but very fancy ones...

Last time I was in Brazil I could not resist and saw this one (the one on the left):

And OF COURSE I immediately saw that someone took a page from my dear Coco Chanel (on the right. LOVE these FFF (fancy flip-flops)!!!

Then, a dear friend of mine gave me THESE (on the right versus the Chanel one on the left):

These poor things were in storage because of this never ending New York weather... Now they are coming out of their boxes and walking all over the place with me.

So happy I have them!!! The Chanel look for less...

CUTE!!!!!!!

Another day, another shopping experience!!! The Denim Shirt!

Well, folks... Had to succumb to this revival... The denim shirt...
Cannot believe how cyclical fashion is...

Had a ton of those in the 90's and believe it or not, I did use them with jeans pants at the same time..
No way NOW!
They were pretty big back then, but now. thank God, they are fitted and smaller...

This is my latest purchase:

And guess what... found it on the cheap! Charlotte Russe has a bad mall-rat reputation, but sometimes they are spot on on the latest trends. This one is cute and I am loving it...

Another thing I am loving...

Incredible how this scarf thing is still in fashion... And tied like a "Bedouin bandit" would...
Bought this one (with little coinlike things and tassels all over). I LOVE it!!!

On the store: Pimkie (cheap thrills)

On the window....

And on MOI (better model) LOL!!!
